Lakeshore Focus will debut as a news and public affairs series to be hosted by well known public policy strategist and academician Dan Lowery. Classical Stretch: The Esmonde Technique continues its focus on overall wellness and physical fitness in its sixth season. The popular public television fitness program features Miranda Esmonde-White performing her graceful, fluid and controlled method of stretching on location in Jamaica. Twist on Tradition, a locally-produced 30-minute documentary, explores the Northwest Indiana Symphony Orchestra (NISO) - an organization that has served as a major cultural force for the region for more than 60 years. The program explores the organization's past, present and future goals while exploring what makes the Symphony unique within the larger context of classical music in the United States.
Lakeshore Public Television proudly presents Greetings from Cedar Lake, an original documentary chronicling the historical high-society resort destination of Cedar Lake, Indiana. This program reveals the town's rich history as it changes from frontier community, to resort town, to post-war suburb.
The Udderly Amazing Cow, a brand new, high-energy TV show for kids on the history & highlights of cows, is Lakeshore Public Television's premiere children's series. Filmed right here in northwest Indiana at Fair Oaks Farms, The Udderly Amazing Cow! follows a group of region children as they learn about dairy farming through fun & factual twists and adventures. This one-of-a-kind series blends captivating animation with live footage from inside the farm.
In Haunts & Legends of Indiana, Lakeshore PTV takes an in-depth look at some of Indiana's allegedly haunted sites and legendary tales. Volume one explores three popular supernatural stories of Northwest Indiana: the mysterious girl on Reder Road, the legend of Gypsies Graveyard and the Inn at Aberdeen's little resident, as related to us by Mark Marimen, author of Haunted Indiana and Mike McDowell, founder of Indiana Ghost Trackers.
Lakeshore PTV has teamed up with the Chicago Regional Council of Carpenters Labor and Management Committee to produce Built to Last, a new television series that details what goes into professional-quality construction projects. The 13-episode series will feature residential and commercial construction projects from the ground up and highlight what it takes to execute those projects utilizing technology, skill, craft, efficiency, pride, consistency and expertise. Dyer, IN: Roots, Reflection & the Road Ahead - In conjunction with the town's centennial celebration, Lakeshore Public Television's latest original documentary tells the story of Dyer, Indiana, from its first settlers to the official incorporation in 1910, to being included in CNN and Money Magazine's "100 Best Places to Live in the US" in 2005.
In the coming years, Lakeshore Public Television will continue to expand our local program list for a local audience, as well as plan productions that have a nationwide appeal and show off our unique region to the world.
