Kids Programs

TV that Teaches!

We combat the unfortunate notion that learning is boring with shows that are engaging, enlightening, and fun! Tune in weekdays from 5:30 to 10:30am and again from 3 to 5:30pm for kid favorites such as Arthur, Clifford the Big Red Dog, Between the Lions, Super Why! and Sesame Street.

Lakeshore Public Television airs shows that parents can feel good about their children watching. Every kid's program on our station, whether it is aimed at toddlers or pre-adolescents, has an education mission—improving interpersonal skills, teaching math and language skills, building self-image, etc. Of course, our ultimate goal is to entertain kids because we know that if a program cannot make them laugh or think or get them excited then it will fail to help them learn.

Much research, study, and time is invested while preparing PBS children's programs. Likewise, Lakeshore Public Television carefully considers which shows to air and at what time in order to reach the maximum number of kids with quality, wholesome, values-oriented entertainment. We understand that today's under-12 consumers have many choices for televised amusement and we want to offer them smart, fun shows that make them think.

If you are a parent who has never tuned in to see what your child is missing, give the Lakeshore Public Television kid's program block a try. Your kids will thank you.
