PHOTOJOURNALIST (PT)
Lakeshore News Tonight, Northwest Indiana's only local televised newscast has an immediate opening for a part-time (approx. 30 hours/week) photojournalist. Candidate will be responsible for shooting in the field, editing and writing stories and operating studio camera when needed in a fast-paced, multi-platform environment. Experience needed shooting in a variety of different environments, knowledge of sports and sports-related shooting is a plus. Applicant must have the ability to write and linear-edit VOs and VO/SOTs along with a proficiency in Microsoft Word and Outlook. Applicant must be experienced in shooting with DVCam or similar cameras; have strong communication skills and the ability to react quickly to changing news situations. Working hours will vary based on the coverage needs for the day. Applicants will be given a writing and shooting abilities test during the interview process. WEEKEND NEWS ANCHOR (PT)/WLPR-FM
Lakeshore Public Radio has an immediate opening for a new Saturday morning news voice on The Lakeshore, 89.1 FM. The ideal candidate must be able to gather, write, prepare and deliver local hourly newscasts of relevance to listeners in Northwest Indiana. Ability to work efficiently and report under deadline pressure required. Applicant should have a working knowledge of digital audio editing, writing copy for broadcast, researching material and enterprising stories. MEMBER SERVICES ASSISTANT
Lakeshore Public Television & Radio seeks a full-time Member Services Assistant. Responsibilities include superior customer service coordination through call processing, data processing and order fulfillment. Candidates should be organized, able to juggle multiple projects, able to work a variety of hours and able to maintain multiple databases and lists. Preferred candidate will have call service and/or telemarketing experience with a great sales track record. This position offers paid vacation and health insurance. GRANT WRITER
Northwest Indiana Public Broadcasting, Inc., a non-profit organization, is seeking a permanent part-time Grants Writer with a Bachelor's Degree and 5 years of experience. Individual needs a verifiable track record with success in researching grant possibilities, writing proposals, record keeping and monitoring of grants to ensure compliance and reporting. Must work independently, but collaborate with other members of staff for gathering information and reporting. Position is approximately 20-30 hours per week. Excellent writing, verbal communications and computer skills are essential in addition to working quickly and accurately to meet deadlines. Individual will be accountable for achieving budget goals.
